About Paloma
Paloma Dulinen (She/Her)| BA. In Psych., A.D. In Child and Youth Care (Hons.)
Social Media Coordinator Volunteer
Hi there, my name is Paloma Dulinen. I appreciate you taking a moment to learn more about me!
I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology at Ryerson (now known as Toronto Metropolitan University). A couple of years after graduating, I completed an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Care at George Brown College.
I am currently an Education Worker within the York Catholic District School Boards, supporting students with Autism, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and students needing behaviour support in the classroom. Analyzing behavioural, the functions of behaviour, and implementing behavioural strategies are all parts of my front-line role working with students. Every day is different! As busy and challenging as it can get, I know how valuable this work is and how rewarding it can be to see students reach certain milestones or individualized goals!
My experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has been with both adults and children, and I have grown quite passionate about working in this field. Psychology, mental health, and wellness will always play an integral role in my own life, and how I work with students or clients. Empathy, compassion, building rapport and trust, and in-the-moment interventions all aid in allowing me to provide students with strategies for coping and building resilience - both in the school setting and hopefully beyond!
As part of the social media coordinator team, I appreciate the ability to be creative. The presence of social media is an ever-growing means of networking and building. Combining and using media to share One Peace Therapy’s values and holistic practices is what we hope to convey!
