Sasha is accepting new clients!
Hello, my name is Sasha Latiff-Thomas. Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about me!
My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University. I also hold an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto Scarborough in Mental Health and Population Health Studies.
Personally, I’ve been through my own share of life’s ups and downs; I recognize reaching out for mental health support isn’t always easy. Therefore, as a therapist, I emphasize creating a safe, respectful, and culturally inclusive/anti-oppressive environment for clients to feel understood, find their strengths, increase self-acceptance, and explore self-made narratives.
Professionally, volunteering in crisis prevention support services and working in various areas of the health sector (e.g. fertility clinic, neurodegenerative disorder clinic) has connected me with a range of individuals with unique concerns. It’s important that support is tailored to your needs and goals, so in addition to holding a person-centered, trauma-focused, strength-based approach, I draw on Somatic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Your journey may have many moving parts- physical, emotional, mental, and emotional. Together, at your own pace, we’ll get you to a place where you desire, and deserve, to be.
